Meet Kirstin and Elijah
The Doggy Lounge got its start in beautiful Happy Valley, in September 2018. We spent 4 years building our business in Happy Valley, and recently made the move to the Saseenos area of Sooke - a short 16 minute drive from Slegg Lumber.
After meeting at a previous pet care company, Kirstin and Elijah have dedicated their days to expanding their knowledge of working with canines.
“The Doggy Lounge is the best! Our dog cannot wait to get out of the car, when we pull in! Kirstin is a fantastic groomer & Elijah is so good with dogs. I cannot say enough good things about this business and the incredibly caring, kind & educated staff!”

Kirstin started her journey by becoming a Dog Walker for a small, yet busy local business. After some time there, she was promoted to an Assistant Manager position and arranged schedules for other dog walkers on her team. She then began to learn to groom dogs under a locally well-known and respectable groomer. Kirstin has a newly discovered passion for dog sports. She actively attends local nose work sessions with her dog Kaia, whom has taken quite well to it. Kaia has already obtained 4 SDDA titles, and 2 CWAGS titles. They also currently attend Rally classes, and practice learning new tricks. Recently, Kirstin welcomed a new member to her home team, Gordie, an Australian cattle dog. Gordie is already making waves in the dog sports world, actively participating in conformation shows and embarking on his career in nose work, rally, and disc competitions.
Growing up with a passion for animals, Elijah began working at a busy pet care facility, where he learned and grew. After some time, he was promoted to a managerial position. Elijah even worked under a Balanced trainer for a period of time, where he acquired skills to calmly and effectively maintain order with numerous dogs. Elijah loves working with all his dayschool dogs, and teaching them how to achieve a calmer state, and coexisting within a group.
Together, Kirstin and Elijah share a thirst for knowledge and are constantly looking for new opportunities to learn and expand their skills.
